Help for homeowners at Nassau Coliseum
The first in a series of free workshops for struggling homeowners was held yesterday at the Nassau Coliseum.
Hundreds lined up for the Homeowners Preservation Workshop, sponsored by the Obama administration?s Making Home Affordable Program and the HOPE NOW Alliance.
Homeowners at risk of losing their homes can meet with representatives from more than a dozen mortgage companies. Government-approved mortgage counseling agencies are also on hand.
Eric Selk, of HOPE NOW, says talking to someone face-to-face can be especially helpful to homeowners facing tough situations.
The workshops are also being held from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today and Friday.
