LI Hispanics protest against AZ law

More than 100 members of Long Island's Latino community gathered in Hempstead today to protest against Arizona's new illegal immigration law.

The law signed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) requires police to routinely question people about their immigration status.

Many participants of today's May Day rally say they fear a similar law will be passed in New York, which may lead to crackdowns on immigrants.

"It's a racial profiling law, and we're here to say that's not the right thing to do," says Monica Diaz, of West Hempstead.

Protesters called for the end to deportations and the beginning of federal immigration law reform.
