Nearly two dozen people homeless after Baldwin fire

Officials say almost two dozen people are homeless after a massive fire Monday night.

The fire broke out on Merrick Road and Grand Avenue at Jerry's Pizzeria just after 10:30 p.m.

Officials say the fire ravaged a row of businesses and apartments. Seven firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.

The Nassau Red Cross is helping at least 21 tenants left homeless.
