Bloomberg remarks on failed bombing attempt

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is calling for more federal money to protect New Yorkers from terror attacks.

At a press conference earlier today, he also talked about the latest in the failed Times Square bombing.

A Pakistani-born U.S. citizen has been taken into custody. The mayor said the arrest should not be as used as an excuse for anti-Muslim actions.

"We will not tolerate any bias or backlash against Pakistani or Muslim New Yorkers," said Bloomberg.

Bloomberg also thanked the FDNY and other emergency workers for the role they played in averted a disaster in Times Square.
