Man charged in Pancho Villa's stabbing

Police say a Long Island man has been arrested for stabbing another man during a large disturbance outside a restaurant.

Police say the melee occurred around 1 a.m. yesterday morning and at one point involved 100 people.

Officials say a verbal altercation broke out between Wesley Erickson, 26, of Huntington and Ryan DiPaolo, 21. Police say Erickson stabbed DiPaolo, then fled Pancho Villa?s restaurant in Huntington.

Erickson was charged with assault and resisting arrest. He is scheduled for arraignment today.

The injured man was treated at a hospital and released.

Another person was arrested for punching a police officer.
