Driver pleads guilty in death of Melville jogger
(AP) - The Long Island man accused of runningdown two joggers - killing one - has pleaded guilty to the mostserious charges he faced.
Shea Rosen was 19 when he drove his SUV into Amanda Malloy, a29-year-old elementary schoolteacher, and her companion,32-year-old Vincent Saunders. Malloy was killed and Saunders wasseriously injured.
Rosen pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree vehicularmanslaughter, first-degree vehicular assault and driving under theinfluence of drugs. He touched his eyes with a tissue while heanswered prosecutors' questions about the November 2008 Huntingtoncrash.
Rosen admitted in court to taking Xanax before fatally strikingthe fourth-grade schoolteacher.
