Report: U.S. adds most jobs in 4 years

New employment numbers have been released today showing that the nation added 290,000 jobs last month, making it the biggest gain in four years.

Despite the positive jobs report, the national unemployment rate grew to 9.9 percent from 9.7 percent.

"We now know that the economy has been growing for a better part of a year," President Barack Obama says. "This steady growth is starting to give businesses the confidence to expand and to hire new people."

Obama says while the U.S. has come a long way from the worst of the recession, there's a ways to go, with millions of people still desperately seeking work.
