Cops: 2 teens arrested for planning attack at Connetquot H.S.
Police say two teens have been arrested for planning an attack at Connetquot High School.
Police list former student Christopher Franko, 17, as one of the suspects. Cops say he met the second suspect, Dana Saltzman, 16, while attending Eastern Suffolk BOCES Bellport Academic Center.
News 12 Long Island has learned that Franko was also arrested in 2007 and pled guilty for planning an attack against the high school.
Based on interviews and statements with the suspects, the pair planned to buy shotguns to kill students, faculty and staff on June 10.
Police also say Facebook messages threatening Franko could've led to his motive for the alleged planned attack.
The Connetquot School District superintendent says at no time was the safety of students or staff in jeopardy.
Both teens have been charged with fifth-degree conspiracy.
