Police search for vehicle in Syosset school bomb threat

Students returned to school as normal today after Syosset school district officials say a security guard received a non-specific bomb threat yesterday morning. The threat happened at the entrance to South Woods Middle School.

Police say a white Nissan Altima drove by the school?s entrance and a passenger yelled to a security guard that there was a bomb in the school.

The emergency management plan was activated and both South Woods Middle School and Syosset High School were evacuated.

Officials say police and district officials conducted a search of both buildings. Police say they determined there was no threat. Once the building was deemed safe, students and staff were allowed to return for a regular day.
