Suffolk announces 20 arrests in heroin drug bust
Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota has announced the arrests of 20 people on charges of selling or possessing heroin.
Police say they have confiscated more then 4,400 bags of heroin from three major distribution rings and more than $100,000 in cash.
Authorities say New York City suppliers delivered the heroin to eastern Long Island. Some of the seized heroin was labeled "Google," "President" and "Privilege."
?It is the largest heroin bust that we've ever made on the East End,? Spota says.
The defendants include residents of Mattituck, Greenport, Flanders, Calverton, Riverhead and Coram. Spota says the alleged ringleaders made more than $3 million from drug sales this year.
