Cops: Body of female found inside bag is missing woman

Police say an autopsy has confirmed the remains found inside a plastic bag in Westbury on Monday are those of a woman who went missing in July of 2009.

The woman was identified as Winsome Angela Perez, 46, of Hicksville.

Police say they received a report of a rotting smell at Express Steel Supply Company on Hooper Street Monday. The bag was discovered by company workers, officials say.

Winsome Perez was last seen in Wantagh, according to police. Her husband worked as a welder at the steel company where the body was found. Police say he is missing, as well.

Officials say the homicide investigation is continuing.
