Hicksville mom to run 100 miles with one leg

A Hicksville mom is about to take on the ultimate challenge and will try to run more than 100 miles with only one leg.

Amy Palmiero-Winters lost her leg in a motorcycle crash 14 years ago.

Palmiero-Winters became the first amputee on the U.S. national track team.

Palmiero-Winters is now in France competing in the 24-hour world championships.

She will run from 9 a.m. this morning until 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The Long Islander hopes to break her personal record of 130.4 miles in one day.
