Benefit held for sick Wantagh boy

The Nassau County Police Department hosted a benefit tonight to help save the life of a 5-year-old Wantagh boy.

Last August, Jack Perlungher was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer. The kidney was removed and Perlungher underwent chemotherapy, but the cancer returned.

Perlungher's medical bills are mounting, and next week the 5-year-old will undergo stem cell treatment.

Tonight's event, called "Jack's Benefit," was held at Mulcahy's in Wantagh.
