Shirley man says he was questioned in bomb plot probe

A home in Shirley was searched by the FBI and Suffolk police today as part of the investigation into the failed Times Square bomb plot. Witnesses say the FBI spent a few hours at the home this morning and do not appear to have removed anything from the house.

A man who says he was the target of today?s raid tells News 12 Long Island he didn?t know why he was being questioned. Mohammad Iqbal, who owns the Shirley home, says FBI agents swarmed his house around 6 a.m. and started asking about the Times Square bombing suspect.

Iqbal says he knows nothing about the plot or the suspect. He also says he is from Pakistan and has been in the U.S. legally for 15 years without any problems. He tells News 12 Long Island he was profiled because of his name and ethnicity.
