Muslim Alliance of LI: We are helping fight terrorism

A local Muslim leader says he wants Long Islanders to know that mosques are cooperating with law enforcement when it comes to terrorism and radical Islam.

Investigators are still examining what ties alleged Times Square bomb plotter Faisal Shahzad had to Long Island. Two Long Island homes were raided in the investigation into the plot and officials say Shahzad retrieved some of the money for the attack in Ronkonkoma.

While there is no known connection between Shahzad and any Long Island mosque, the chair of the Muslim Alliance of Long Island says local Muslims are doing what they can to fight against terrorism.

Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) disagrees. He says there is a code of silence regarding Muslims reporting radical activity.
