Citibank donation keeps LI parks open

Citibank donated $100,000 to keep two state parks on Long Island slated for closure open for the summer.

State Parks Commissioner Carol Ash says local beaches and parks remain in financial limbo because the state Senate has yet to pass a new budget.

"Long Island is all about beaches and parks, so we thought it would be a perfect partnership and giveback to the community," says Michelle Imbasciani, of Citibank.

Citibank's donation will help keep Zach's Bay beach and Connetquot State Park open during the summer season. The funds will also allow the carousel at Hempstead Lake State Park to maintain its regular schedule.
