(AP) - The Long Island Rail Road is implementing service cuts that will result in more crowded and less frequent trains on some branches.

Starting today, the LIRR will eliminate or reduce service onfive branches: Long Beach, Babylon, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson andPort Washington.

In addition, daily service to Belmont Park during racing seasonwill end. But special trains will be provided on June 4 and 5 for the Belmont Stakes.
