Court case adjourned for teen accused of driving high
? The Freeport teen accused of killing a woman while driving high on drugs did not make her hearing today for a previous case.
Cops say 18-year-old Kayla Gerdes was high when she ran down Dr. Rebecca Twine last month while she was mowing her lawn in Hempstead.
Gerdes was expected in court for petit larceny charges today. Her case was adjourned. Gerdes has already pleaded guilty to the charge.
Gerdes is still in custody in a Nassau jail from the arrest on the fatal accident.
