Firefighter hit by car during softball game

A Long Island firefighter was hit by a car during a softball game.

Police say it happened last night while a group of firefighters were playing near Old Nichols Road and Express Drive South in Islandia.

One of the players was hit in the head by a softball and knocked out.

When firefighter Robert Powers went to get a medical bag from his car, he was hit by another vehicle.

Officials say everyone is going to be OK.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
