State Legislature reviews Paterson proposal for state parks

? The state Legislature reviewed Gov. David Paterson?s proposal to keep state parks and historic sites open for the year.

Officials say to pay for it, the Legislature may have to take $6 million from the Environmental Protection Fund.

State lawmakers have been in a nearly two-month standoff over the budget deficit.

Closing parks, including the Nisseqogue River and Brookhaven Parks, was one solution the legislature was looking into.
