Sound Beach woman living on the edge due to storm damage

A Sound Beach woman whose home has been left teetering on the edge by this winter?s storms is finally getting help from one local company, but she says it may not be enough.

Part of Edith Hotis? deck collapsed in March after a strong storm stripped the shore of much of its sand. Hotis says winds and water breached a neighbor's protective wall, causing the cliff, and her deck, to slide.

Tide Water Deck Building Company has stepped in and is loaning its services to Hotis.

Hotis says Liberty Mutual has told her the damage to the deck isn?t covered. The company tells News 12 Long Island it will review her case.

Hotis says FEMA and local banks have also denied her assistance.
