Infamous Amityville house up for sale
The Amityville house made famous after the grisly slayings of six members of the DeFeo family in 1975 has been put up for sale.
The house, a five-bedroom Dutch Colonial, went on the market yesterday for $1.15 million.
Eldest son Ronald DeFeo Jr. was convicted of shooting and killing his family as they slept. The crime spawned a book and a series of movies that chronicled various supernatural sightings in the home.
Realtor Jennifer Gromus says brokers are required by law to tell potential buyers about the home's past.
