Able-Ride services to be discontinued

Able-Ride services will be eliminated starting today after a federal court dismissed lawsuits against MTA Long Island Bus. The service discontinuation is one of the cost-cutting moves the MTA is using to lessen its budget gap.

Able-Ride, which provided transportation services for disabled passengers, will now have its program cut down by nearly 10 percent by the MTA.

Long Island Bus says it will still honor reservations which were made prior to May 27.
