Facebook to roll out simpler privacy controls

Facebook announced further simplification of its privacy settings today after complaints have surfaced across the Internet.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook will be rolling out the new interface in a few weeks.

Privacy advocates say the problem is that many Facebook users don't or can't figure out how to activate privacy settings.

?They seem to have a tin ear for understanding what they can and can't do with consumers? private information,? PCMag.com editor Lance Ulanoff. ?So that is the lesson that I think Facebook has finally learned.?

Zuckerberg says users will easily be able to restrict their personal data to friends only and keep third parties from collecting the information.
