Recovery efforts under way for missing swimmers

? Recovery crews continue to look for two swimmers who are missing after being swept away by strong currents in waters off Long Island beaches Wednesday.

Police say a 22-year-old man was swimming with two friends at Jones Beach when they were separated by a large wave. Rescue helicopters were also used.

Officials say the 19-year-old who went missing off Long Beach was with three friends yesterday when he got swept away by a wave. Rescuers combed the waters for the Brooklyn teen. Officials turned the rescue mission into a recovery mission at around 3 p.m.

Officials are warning beachgoers not to go in the water since lifeguards don?t go on duty until this weekend.
