Furlough decision hangs over state workers
State workers from the Island are waiting to see if they'll lose a day's pay every week.
A judge is expected to decide in the next few days if Gov. David Paterson can furlough 100,000 state workers one day a week.
The unions say there is no emergency to justify reducing the paychecks of so many state workers. But the governor insists the furloughs are needed to save cash during the state's budget crisis.
