Wyandanch scales back budget in hopes of getting it passed
It failed the first time around, but now one Suffolk school is scaling back its budget in hopes of getting it passed.
Last week voters rejected Wyandanch's 13.94 percent proposed tax hike. It was the highest increase on Long Island.
Newsday says the district is proposing a 3.23 percent tax hike but still plans to lay off 15 teachers.
The revote for the district is scheduled for June 15.
Nine other Long Island school budgets failed.
