Officials attend groundbreaking of ferry terminal

Local and federal officials broke ground this morning on the new Glen Cove ferry terminal.

In addition to providing North Shore residents with a quicker route to Manhattan, the terminal is also considered to be at the center of the Glen Cove waterfront restoration. An increased number of ferry riders are expected to cut down travel times and car traffic congestion.

Through the new terminal, Glen Cove commuters will be connected to New York City as well as stops within the Long Island Sound.
