Parents appalled by anti-Israel cartoon on library website

Parents say they were appalled to find that hackers posted an anti-Israel cartoon on the Sachem Public Library website today. The cartoon depicts an Israeli boy with a gun in his pocket and an Arab boy with a slingshot in his. The Israeli boy says, "My father told me that you Arabs are evil terrorist animals," and the Arab boy responds, "My father told me nothing! He was murdered by yours."

The library isn't sure if the cartoon is a response to the Israeli raid of a Turkish aid ship.

The library says its IT department removed the cartoon as soon as it was reported. In addition, the library is strengthening its website security.

Suffolk police are investigating the incident.
