MTA salaries up amid services cuts

While Long Island commuters are dealing with major service cuts, Metropolitan Transportation Authority employees are earning more money, according to a report.

A new report shows MTA salaries rose more than 2 percent last year. The average worker at the transit agency now makes close to $70,000, with many earning as much as $100,000.

Meanwhile, the MTA has been slashing the number of trains and buses due to an $800 million budget gap.
