Suffolk Exec. Levy says he'll likely seek re-election

One day after his loss at the State Republican Convention, Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy says he will likely seek re-election in his current position.

Levy says he has no regrets switching parties to make a run for governor and he's still considering running as an independent, but he's more likely to seek re-election as Suffolk County executive.

Sources say some Republicans, including Suffolk County Comptroller Joe Sawicki and state Sen. John Flanagan, would consider a primary against Levy.

Among Democrats, Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone and Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan are considering running for county executive.
