EPA: Study needed before Plum Island is sold

The EPA says a study must be conducted before Plum Island can be sold.The study would determine the impact that the island's animal disease lab had on the environment.Congress has ordered that the lab be shut down and that the land be sold.The EPA has suggested that the government turn most of the island into a nature preserve. Environmentalists are worried the island will be sold to a developer.
