Trump on the Ocean still stalled 4 years later

Nearly four years after Donald Trump announced plans to build a catering hall at Jones Beach, the plan remains stalled, leaving beachgoers wondering whether the project will ever be built.

Plans for Trump on the Ocean were announced in 2006. The upscale catering facility was supposed to be finished by spring 2009.

Trump's plan is still tied up in red tape after the state denied a request to build a basement at the site because it is on a flood plain.

Residents say they would prefer developers put in an affordable, nice restaurant that is accessible to middle-income people, rather than one targeted toward Hamptons clientele.
