Authorities say Nassau County police responded to a domestic dispute at the home at around 10:15 a.m., but by the time they arrived, the entire house was engulfed in flames.

Police arrested the homeowner, 44-year-old Cynthia Richardson, who lived in the house with her 19-year-old daughter, her sister and her sister's boyfriend, Joseph Small.

According to Small, Richardson said she didn't want anyone living in the house with her, poured gasoline around the first floor and torched the home.

Richardson's mother says her daughter has a history of mental illness.
