State bill could ban underage teens from using tanning beds

? New York could soon have the toughest tanning law in the nation.

A new state bill would ban anyone under 18 years old from using tanning beds.

Long Beach Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg?s bill has already passed in the state Assembly?s Health Committee.

Currently, New York teens between 14 and 18 years old can tan only if they have a note from their parents.

Suffolk?s law goes even further, requiring parents to be present at the tanning salon.
