Police searching for serial bank robber

Detectives say a man who robbed two Long Island banks in the past three weeks struck again yesterday in Oceanside.

The suspect handed a note to a teller at a Wachovia saying he had a weapon and demanding money, according to police.

Detectives say the same man was caught on surveillance video holding up a Bank of America in Massapequa Park. Police believe he also robbed a Citibank in Hicksville and then fled on a bicycle.

Police say the suspect is a man in his late 20s or early 30s seen wearing large oval sunglasses, a blue fisherman's hat, blue sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
