Chicago Blackhawks win Stanley Cup

(AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks have won the StanleyCup, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in overtime in Game 6 fortheir first championship since 1961.

Patrick Kane scored the winning goal 4:10 into overtimeWednesday night, and the Blackhawks became the first team to win onthe road this series.

The Blackhawks completed their revival from the bottom of theNHL to holding the silver trophy on the strength of rising starsKane and Jonathan Toews.

Annti Niemi was solid in goal to help the Blackhawks wrap uptheir most successful season since Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita ledthe way 49 years ago.

It ends the longest active championship drought in the NHL.

The Flyers are still looking for their first Stanley Cup titlesince 1975.
