Jury selection to begin in crane crash trial

Jury selection is set to begin this week in the trial of a Massapequa Park man accused of causing one of the nation's deadliest construction crane accidents.

Lead contractor William Rapetti is charged with criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter.

Prosecutors say in 2008, Rapetti was reckless in securing the 200-foot-tall crane causing it to crash onto a city block, killing seven people.

Rapetti claims he followed industry safety standards.
