Woodmere shooting leaves 1 man dead

Police say they are investigating an overnight shooting at a home in Woodmere that has left one man dead.

According to police, the man was abducted during an early morning home invasion on South End Avenue and was shot trying to escape his kidnappers.

Officials say two armed men forced two victims into the house, tied them up and forced the victims into a car. Police say one of the victims got out of the car, but the other victim was still in it.

The victim was shot in the chest trying to get out of the vehicle and died this morning. Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.

Police say the suspects in the shooting were traveling in a stolen 2004 black Infiniti with New York license plate "DYM2184."
