Accused drunken driver crashes into utility pole

Officials say an accused drunken driver crashed into a pole in North Sea Wednesday and caused the roads to be closed for hours.

The incident happened on Noyac Road and Cedar Avenue.

Police say 73-year-old Dennis McCann from Sag Harbor plowed into a LIPA pole. The pole and live wires toppled across Noyac Road, closing the road into the night.

McCann is charged with driving drunk.

The road is now reopened.
