Off-duty jail guard charged in shooting rampage

A Nassau correction officer who allegedly shot and killed her ex-girlfriend and uncle Wednesday was arraigned yesterday on charges including two counts of murder and kidnapping.

Police say Kim Wolfe fatally shot 45-year-old Stacie Williams and 56-year-old Marshall Williams Jr. Wolfe also shot and injured her 88-year-old grandfather and kidnapped her 23-year-old niece, according to authorities.

At her arraignment, Wolfe wore a bulletproof vest and was seated behind a partition as a precaution, a judge said. Stacie Williams' ex-husband and other relatives say Wolfe received unnecessary preferential treatment.

Authorities say last May, Wolfe voluntarily turned in her two guns to the sheriff's department, but requested them back on Monday.

She is being held without bail and will appear in court again on June 21.
