Rep. Israel urges help for vets who own businesses

Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington) visited a Bay Shore business yesterday to make a push for the federal government to help veteran-owned small businesses. Israel visited Precision Metals Corporation, which is owned by a Vietnam veteran, to talk about the Business Lending Fund Act. The measure would provide $30 billion in small business loans, with priority being given to owners who served their country and hire fellow veterans. House lawmakers passed the measure, but it is still waiting for approval in the U.S. Senate.
