Restaurant owner charged with sex abuse
Officials say a restaurant owner is accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl after closing time Thursday.
Police say 32-year-old Memet Arslan, of Bellmore, was closing up the Mediterranean Kebab Restaurant on Post Avenue in Westbury when he smoked hookah with the hostess and then molested her.
According to authorities, the hostess locked the door and closed the blinds as she normally does before Arslan called her into the back room. Detective Lt. Ray Cote says Arslan kissed the teen, groped her and exposed himself to her before she was able to get away.
Arslan was arraigned yesterday on three charges, including third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
