Freeport man fatally shot in Queens

New York City police say a Freeport man who worked as a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer at JFK International Airport was fatally shot outside his father's Queens home Monday.

According to authorities, 33-year-old Maurice Gordon was at Moments nightclub in Elmont with his female cousin when he came to his relative's aid after she was harassed by a man.

Gordon's sister says he later arrived at his father's Jamaica, Queens home and told his cousin she should run into the house because there was something wrong. Moments later, he was shot to death.

Police are unsure if the men who harassed Gordon's cousin followed him home, or if the shooting was unrelated.

Authorities say they are seeking at least three suspects.
