Police say the man, whose uncle identified him as Dario Ormejuste, had been in the house with the bodies and came outside to smoke a cigarette as officers arrived. According to authorities, Dario Ormejuste lived at the house on 238th Street off Linden Boulevard with his parents and older brother.

The man's uncle, Tex Ormejuste, says the couple's other son is a New York City correction officer at Rikers Island. Tex Ormejuste says he went to the house after the son failed to go to work for two days.

Police say the woman who lived in the home has been identified as 60-year old Rose Ormejuste and that she is missing.
