LI proms nearly ruined by rush for tuxedos

For many Long Island high school students, prom almost didn't happen.

More than 100 students rented their prom tuxedos from RSVP Tuxedo, of Bay Shore, and they all came to pick them up at the same time.

At one moment, 75 people crammed into the store until the fire marshal came in and cleared it out. The store was forced to let people in 10 at a time and lock the front door.

Though students, their parents and their dates all worried whether they would get their tuxedos in time, they were all able to get to the prom.

The owner says he'll open the store at 6 a.m. next year to accommodate the rush.
