Homes evacuated after Babylon gas leak; no injuries

(AP) - A gas leak on Long Island has promptedpolice to evacuate several homes.

Suffolk County police say the gas leak was reported last nightin Babylon. Police spokesman Rob Busweiler says the National Gridcompany has responded to the scene to fix the gas leak but willhave to dig up a road before it can identify the cause.

Busweiler said there were no injuries.

He said less than 10 homes were evacuated, but didn't have amore exact number.
