Driver crashes into man outside club in Hampton Bays

A Shirley man is accused of intentionally driving at crowds of people outside a Hamptons hot spot.

The incident occurred at the Beach Bar on Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays early Saturday morning. Police say Timothy Hughes was drunk and agitated when he started confronting patrons in the parking lot. Witnesses say Hughes drove at groups of people, forcing them to scatter.

Mitchell Bloxon, of Westhampton, was hit but is expected to be OK. Hughes was arrested.
