Bones, military shell found on Hampton Bays beach

Police say bones washed ashore on Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays.

Officials are not releasing much information about the finding, but they say 30 minutes later, a military shell was found in the sand.

Suffolk Emergency Services was called to the scene to blow up the shell.

The beach is slated to be re-opened this morning.
