Fourth of July travel expected to increase from '09

? Officials say a lot more New Yorkers are traveling this Fourth of July weekend compared to last year.

AAA is predicting nearly 5 million people in the New York region will get on the roads to leave town this holiday weekend. That number is up almost 20 percent from last year.

Experts say gas prices should stay steady during the weekend. On Long Island, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.97, which is less than other parts of the country. It?s the low gas prices, experts say, that have drivers filling up and hitting the road.

This weekend, the trains will operate on a holiday schedule.
